Try putting it in a zip lock bag of dry out rice for a few days. The rice will suck upwards moisture. When your done you could use a vacuum or a very slightly damp tissue to remove the dust from the mouse, sometimes dust comes off the rice. Same trick can be used on cellphones. Probably a short circuit somewhere. Once it dries it will probably exist okay just don't plug it in a for a few days.

I took it apart cause the rice fox i don't think would work sense it was on the heater for days after it happen and earlier i posted this..

Only i discover a little thing on the side that looks like a diode or something that seems like it would unplug? it seems like it has a bit corroded on it. but im wondering is that part of the scroll bike or only a fuse looking thing?

here's a pic. i cant get a clear one with my cam...

It'southward the optical receiver. Attempt cleaning it and its contacts with alcoholic solution. If it'southward fried for skillful your merely option is to desolder 1 from, I recall, pretty much whatsoever old Logitech mouse and supervene upon it.

Is it for the mouse bicycle ony? And does that little chip pop out which it does expect like information technology does from the tray its in but when i try to pull information technology its tight in there. But information technology does move a bit.

I exercise have a couple of former logitechs around too and can solder too.

the circled components are an IR led + IR sensor
this couple reads the rays (?) on the wheel
they are very shut to the right button switch, does it have whatever problem ? maybe is bettere to open information technology and take a look
(yes, omron switch can be opened)

they are both soldered underside

the plastic piece in betwixt is to maintain the alignment, or something like that...

for the compatibility with the older chip : I don't know, endeavour to read the sign on the chips, if there are whatsoever

seems unlikely but who knows.

i'm fairly sure all logitechs (except the newest: g pro, g403, g102/203) use the aforementioned optical encoder configuration so if it really is the thing that got damaged by water, yous might be able to only supersede the led and/or detector from another logitech mouse. perhaps even an office one. just check with a multimeter that you're connecting basis and 5V (probably iii.3V for g402) to the same pins. for g100s, the pinout is:

Code:

Code:

. detector io wheel LED- 5V 5V GND

Yep ony problem the mouse has is the wheel every other push works perfect. I do accept 2 g300 and the 1 that'southward having double click issues on the right mouse push button . Going to see if that has the same matching led and detector past taking that apart and if information technology does going to solder it on.

Ony damage i meet is the thing on the right side of the mouse wheel which has rust or something under that chip detector thingy. Was hopeing the top part would unplug so i can clean it cause it looks similar it can only i tried pulling on it and it just wants to move sideways.

Does all Logitech mices utilize this optical for the wheel? Crusade i know actually older mouses use a decoder instead. I might could find a cheaply on eBay instead and only apply that.
